By focusing on value-oriented growth in the subsequent build iCTET phase, we have laid the foundation for establishing our NGO as a reliable partner with perspectives, even in choppy times and against the market trend. We know; there are many scholarships that require students to have a “unique” situation in order to qualify, which means there are scholarship providers out there offering orphan (parentless) scholarships.
intelligent Child Teak Education Trust
If you ever wanted to secure a vocational or higher education for your child or help young parents towards their children’s education, you should read on. Forest of Peace gives you the means to secure the future education of children you care about and at the same time contribute to a healthier environment (trees are essential components for clean air). Your investment supports the growth of a tree for 15 years (depending on climate) and once matured, the proceeds of the timber will be used fully for the vocational or higher education of a child of your choice or, if Forest of Peace is entrusted to select a child, any child in need of support.
Your contribution today secures an education for
a young adult tomorrow.
The intelligent Child Teak Education Trust (iCTET) is the first project of its kind where timber from a tree can be used to finance a sponsored child’s higher education or apprenticeship. Graduates are often hit with the reality that a further education can be very expensive. Parents are often overwhelmed by the financial burden of providing, let’s say, a university education for their children. Young adults often depend on some form of financial support to further their education and training. Sadly, if no education fund has been put aside for them, many have to give up their ambitions altogether.

Forest of Peace’s project, the intelligent Child Teak Education Trust, makes sure that a child born today will be able to pursue a vocational or higher education tomorrow – all costs paid, or in part depending on education or carrier pursued, and not dependent on the exchange rate or stock market.
The one-time contribution entrusted to the iCTET project today designates a young tree growing on one of Forest of Peace’s plantations to the project. 15-18 years later, when this tree has matured, its timber value will go towards the education of a young adult.
Who should partake in the iCTET project and who will benefit?
Anybody may entrust money in a tree growing on land owned by Forest of Peace. Parents for their children; young couples planning a family; grandparents wanting to give long-lasting and valued baby shower gifts; aunts and uncles who understand the importance of a good education; even friends or colleagues of parents-to-be; but also employers can partake who want to surprise expecting employees on the day of birth of the child.
In addition, we accept general donations entrusted to the iCTET project without a pre-selected beneficiary, i.e. the donor makes a contribution towards the education of an unknown child. In these cases, iCTET’s trustees select a worthy beneficiary.
Act with prudent foresight – your grandson will be most appreciative when he has financial support during his college years.
paid today will secure the education of a young adult tomorrow.
How is this possible?
First Forest of Peace will plant a young tree on land owned by them. The tree is then cared for and maintained in its growth period of 15-18 years. After 15-18 years, the tree will be felled and the proceeds from sale of the timber will go in its full amount to the designated young adult’s education, higher education or apprenticeship.
|Example||Under normal circumstances a teak tree’s trunk will grow to about 18 meters in 15 years with a trunk diameter of approximately 33cm. This results in about 6.3 cubic meter of valuable timber; yielding approximately 2,205.00 € in today’s value (timber is sold per cubic meter).|
Above price calculation is based on data from International Tropical Timber Organization or ITTO referring to logs taken from plantations, and John Gilliland of Tectona G. Capital who, as a tropical high-grade hardwood investment management company, sets the present value for 1 cubic meter of teak timber at 350.00 €.
Please note that the roots remain the property of the land owner, in this case Forest of Peace, and the crown will be made available for Buddhist charitable donations.
How can my child make a claim from iCTET
after 15-18 years?
With your payment via PayPal you will receive a payment receipt with a unique pay gate number. Forest of Peace will send you a wall certificate containing this number plus the location and coordination of your dedicated tree. Any query or claim may be addressed to Forest of Peace at the address mentioned in the Contact Us page or semd an email to iCTET@forest-of-peace.org, or directly to the iCTET trustee iCTET.firstname.lastname@example.org (please use the pay gate number as your reference). A designated custodian is available to accept claims for education and training course materials and to reimburse the beneficiary up to the full value of the timber value of the year it was felled and sold. The payment may be a one time payment in full or executed in instalments.
